The 11th session of UNESCO Chair of Cyberspace and Culture: Doing Research in Cyberspace
The 11th session of UNESCO Chair of Cyberspace and Culture: Dual-Spacization of the World will be held at the Faculty of World Studies at University of Tehran. In this session, Dr. Ehsan Shahghasemi, Assistant Professor at Department of Communication, University of Tehran will be presenting his work entitled "Doing Research in Cyberspace."
Over the past one or two decades, doing research in cyberspace has experienced an exponential growth. Marketers have been able to better find and track their customers. Media are now better able to know tastes of their audience and at time video-on-demand services have let the audience to re-categorize film genres as specific as possible. Political authorities can better understand public demands and, social and communication research has designed and conducted wonderful research projects. In this presentation, I will first discuss advantages and pitfalls of doing research in cyberspace and then I will present the method and results of my online survey on 1752 American respondents from all 50 states across United States.
